I know, it's a lot. But, in the right hands they can make magic.
The two tripod systems I had prior added up to almost the same as a good Miller system which will last a lifetime. You'll have many cameras, but hopefully only a couple of tripod systems. Long term it's a small investment.
I have a Bogen and love it...again it's all in preference and how you use it. Loving the info. Thanks for sharing. You answered my question that I previously posted in Feeling Green Part 1. Thanks!
Bogen makes great stuff. I own a lot of their kit. I have a 503 head that just isn't smooth. It's OK, but once you try and use something like a Sachtler or Miller head everything changes!

which one are the crapy tripods ? we want names !
I have both Bogen and Libec tripod systems that have gone bad on me. It's best to get a true fluid head.
My minimum suggestion would probably be the DS20 head from Miller.
