Check out Magic Lantern at http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Magic_Lantern_Firmware_Wiki It will make life so much better for you and make getting on board audio with your Juiced Link a breeze. Essentially it defeats the auto gain control via a firmware upgrade making it possible to get good quality audio directly into the camera while you are recording. It also gives you some nice extras like a live histogram and zebras, plus a couple other goodies. Ted
I'm very aware of Magic Lantern. More just a comment on the difference between the Beachtek and the H4n.
JuicedLink has a new box as well which should be great for the 5DMKII, 7D and soon to be T2i owners. I assume it will work with the GH1 and Nikon DSLRs as well.

Forgive me was a little confused. You are finding that direct to the H4n and syncing in post is indeed better?
Cheers
Tom
Tom,
Yes. Sorry.
Definitely better to record directly to the H4n than use the Beachtek DXA-5D
