BMD Cinema Camera

Note: The camera doesn't have free run timecode, but it does have time of day meta data. I'm on the fence with this one as I'm not doing SFX stuff and I'm not sure I would shoot RAW at 2.5K

My name is on a list for one, but I've got some more thinking to do. I think it fits lots of people, but I'm not sure I am one of them. Shooting at 5000 ISO on the 5DMKIII or C300 is a big plus for me.

More thoughts to come on this here and on Twitter.

Why did you guys shoot 5.6? I'm sure compression helped, but 5000 iso looked really good!

D-Rock,

5.6 to have some depth as Giuseppe could pull focus and if I moved I would be out at f/4. ISO 5000 does look really good on the 5DMKIII. That and lack of moire (do you see the shirt I'm wearing?), are the two big sells for me. 5000 on the MKIII is like 1250 on the MK2.

Was that BMD camera footage playing on the screen behind you? If so, what were your impressions? Thanks!

Nathan,

No. That wasn't. They said about 4 weeks until we see production model footage from the camera.

We now wait...
