I thought I'd got over it until I watched this Gearbox. Now I'll need another visit to the psychiatrist again. I had my EF24-105 lens drop two days ago from about a 1.5m onto a hard tiled floor. It actually hit on the edge of the UV filter that I had on the lens and smashed the hell out of it. As far as I can tell the lens is fine but because of the landing on the edge of the filter, the fillter dented and is now jammed onto the lens. I'll have to do a bit of delicate cutting to get the filter off and I'm scared.

I just thought I'd share my nightmare with you since you managed to dredge it all back up for me. I'll be sending you my psychiatrist bill.

As a warning to others, allways check that any gear you take off your camera is not sitting inside the loop formed by the strap on your camera. When you pick your camera up and the strap drag your very expensive lens to its doom you'll cry. So be warned.

Hopefully getting that out my system will mean less expensive psychiatrist bills.

James,

That sucks. Clip carefully ;-)

As a Scot, I would have thought that pints would be your therapy.

Am I wrong?

Drink is as good as any psychiatrist. I got the ring off without too much damage, just a few minor scratches. I'll just have to have a few pints to celebrate. Whey Hey!
