I saw prometheus at a local dive theater. I'm pretty sure they still use film prints. Maybe not. But I thought the film looked soft and mushy in my show. Totally forgot it was shot on Epic. After watching this post, I realized it was the same theatre I saw Act of Valor in (SAME ROOM). Between the 2 films it comes down to content. Prometheus was packed and I'm sure 99% of the audience has NO clue what it was shot on. Maybe my dive theatre is run down, old, and behind on the latest and greatest, but the film looked in terms of res and clarity like poo. I don't think I can sit thought another 2 hours of it again at the local $15 per ticket 4k showing but what I saw when I look back between something shot on Epic vrs the canon Mk2 shows me that content is king. Both movies were barley worth the $6 I spend per ticket to watch in the big box. I have a 80 inch TV at home with a surround sound system. Once both movies are on BlueRay for me to judge side by side, then I will make my judgements. 99.5% percent of what we all watch is 1080p. That will still be my standard as to judging a films crispness...
