Thank you Jem. I just ordered two of them last week. Great to have such small units in my kit.

So I can presume the scanline problem is fixed?

Voytech,

Yep. Fixed. This is a different light entirely.

Hey Jem, that light looks extremely similar to one I got on ebay months ago for $50? The CN-126, except it did not come with the minus green filter.

I checked te specs and the Alzo seems to have a higher output and slightly different color temp.

It might be the same but not to my knowledge.

Jem,

Thanks for the info. I was just looking at the new Micro Pro Hybrid from Litepanels until I found out about this. Have you had the opportunity to use both? I know the new Litepanel also has the flash function for taking still photos but I'm not sure if that's really necessary for me. There's such a price difference between the two so I want to make sure before I pull the trigger. Thanks.

I've never used the Micro Pro Hybrid, but you can get 3-4 of the 790Ls for the same price.

The flash wouldn't sell me, but lite panels does make good products.

Jem, These Alzo 790's look to be the exact same light as CN-126 LED. I did a review of the Cn-126 on my website and gave color correction guidelines to knock out the green cast and to correct back to 5200K (daylight setting on canon cameras). I did a pretty extensive study for color correction with it and other lights which I will post the results of sometime soon. I like the metal hotshoe option and might purchase that separately. I found the lights to output more like 5000K and 540 lux at 1m rather than the "specs" say. I ended up with three of them and use them for on camera fill or as small accent lights. I will be doing a follow up post with video soon along with color correction to 3200K. You can view the review at www.hartzphotographic.com/photo/for-photographers/gear-review-cn-126-led-light/ I would like to hear your thoughts.

Joel,

They might be and I've addressed that in prior episodes of gearbox. I use the provided minus green filter and the light perfroms well.

Nice coverage of the light on your site.

I like buying "locally" since I can return easily (which can be the case with some of the stuff made overseas). Same with lens adapters. I would rather pay a little extra through Fotodiox. I once had an adapter disintegrate and they replaced it from an emailed photo within 48 hours.
